making presents

I have been making lots of presents for my friends birthdays.

I like making birthday pillows.  I sew my friends name on the pillow.

Items you need

fabric

sewing stuff - cotton and thread 

sewing machine

a large needle

wool.

stuffing ( we used an old pillow)

First you make the shape of your pillow in any size.

leave a little hole for stuffing

stuff pillow

Then you draw your design with a pencil, softly.

Then you sew your design.

Tie Purses


These are fun and quick to make. You just need an old tie. My dad doesn't wear ties so we went to St Vinnies to  find some.


You will need
1. A tie
2. Sewing items - needle and thread
3. a button ( you can steal one from an old dress or shirt)
4. thick cotton.


Cut the bottom end of tie to the size of purse you want
Sew edges on two sides inside out
turn the right way
Sew on button and make a loop on the flap.

Things to make in clay


coil pots - roll clay in long snakes and coil around to make a pot


vases and bowls - shape clay so it can hold a flower or olives or other important things.


If you want your pots hard they need to be fired and then glazed. You will need to go to a pottery place if you want to do this. Or if you are at home - place in the hot sun and let them dry. You can then paint a varnish on them to keep them hard. This is great for decorations , but your pottery won't be water tight or safe to eat out of.

Tonight I went to a art exhibition and it was my cousin Otto's. They were photographs of lego bioncles. They were great and my brother bought two. ( or my mum)
