Pom Pom mobile

I have just got back from Tasmania . I made this Pom Pom mobile in Tassie for my Dad's work.


It is going to be FAMOUS in a movie called "THE HUNTER"

How to make a POM POM mobile

You will need.

1. 2 pieces of cardboard

2. Wool

3. Stick

4. Scissors

1. Cut the 2 pieces cardboard into a circle and then draw a little circle in middle.  

2. Then cut out the little circle.You should have 2 circles with holes in them

3. Put both pieces of cardboard together and wrap the wool around the whole of  them going through the small hole in middle. This will join them together.

4. When your circle is full . Cut around the outside of the outside of circle. Try not to drop it.

5. Then cut some wool to wrap around inside the 2 pieces of the cardboard. Pull the  wool really tight and tie a knot.

6.  Take off both pieces of cardboard and now you have your first POM POM

YOU CAN MAKE YOUR MOBILE INTO  ANY DESIGN  AND YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY POM POMS AS YOU LIKE.

Crochet hair bands

I have been making crocheting flowers and turning them into pretty hairbands. I have made them for my cousins and my sister because I have chopped off all my hair. My model is Mister Woof my puppy.

To make a hair band. 

you will need

wool 8 ply6

any crochet hook

hair elastic

and a wool needle

First you do a 8 chain , then you do a treble stitch, and if you want to do petals you do 6 chain.

If  you want do a little flower inside ( like mine) 

 You start with a 4 chain and then you do treble. If you want to do petals  you should start with petals . 4 chain.

making presents

I have been making lots of presents for my friends birthdays.

I like making birthday pillows.  I sew my friends name on the pillow.

Items you need

fabric

sewing stuff - cotton and thread 

sewing machine

a large needle

wool.

stuffing ( we used an old pillow)

First you make the shape of your pillow in any size.

leave a little hole for stuffing

stuff pillow

Then you draw your design with a pencil, softly.

Then you sew your design.

Tie Purses


These are fun and quick to make. You just need an old tie. My dad doesn't wear ties so we went to St Vinnies to  find some.


You will need
1. A tie
2. Sewing items - needle and thread
3. a button ( you can steal one from an old dress or shirt)
4. thick cotton.


Cut the bottom end of tie to the size of purse you want
Sew edges on two sides inside out
turn the right way
Sew on button and make a loop on the flap.

Things to make in clay


coil pots - roll clay in long snakes and coil around to make a pot


vases and bowls - shape clay so it can hold a flower or olives or other important things.


If you want your pots hard they need to be fired and then glazed. You will need to go to a pottery place if you want to do this. Or if you are at home - place in the hot sun and let them dry. You can then paint a varnish on them to keep them hard. This is great for decorations , but your pottery won't be water tight or safe to eat out of.

Tonight I went to a art exhibition and it was my cousin Otto's. They were photographs of lego bioncles. They were great and my brother bought two. ( or my mum)

It is fun to make a  Fairy Garden.


You will need.
Fairies in the garden.
A big garden where you can explore and find a fairy den.
Food for faires - herbs, water and some of your breakfast.
little dishes and furniture
A nice note for them.






And when I made my fairy garden they gave me $2.00 and a letter.

Today at school

Today I chose to wear to school a mix of clothes that I put together. 

I love the gold sparkle belt . I laced my high top sneakers only half way and I love to mix my patterns.

I can't wait to do craft at school today.
